- Cook ground beef and chopped onion in a hot skillet, breaking apart the meat with a fork.
- Remove from heat and drain off excess fat.
- Mix in 1 teaspoon of salt, ground coriander, cumin, garlic powder, and pepper.
- Set the beef mixture aside.
- Place a 10-inch ovenproof well-greased skillet in a 400°F (200°C) oven until very hot.
- In a bowl, blend sifted flour and remaining salt.
- Add beaten eggs and milk; beat until smooth.
- Pour half of the batter into the hot skillet.
- Cover with the beef mixture.
- Top with the remaining batter.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 40 minutes or until puffed and golden.
- Cut into wedges and serve directly from the skillet.
