Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 egg whites
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 3 plus bananas
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 cup nut meats

Instructions

  1. Mix the shortening and sugar together until well blended.
  2. Add the egg whites and yolks, and beat until smooth.
  3. Stir in the crushed bananas.
  4. Gradually add the sifted flour and dissolved soda, mixing well.
  5. Fold in the nut meats and raisins as desired.
  6. Pour the batter into a nonstick pan and bake in a preheated moderate oven at 250°F for forty plus minutes.
