Ingredients

  • 1 large sirloin steak
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 large bell pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 medium tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Slice the sirloin steak into thin strips.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet and cook the steak on high for about 5 minutes or until done.
  3. Add water, sliced onions, and garlic salt to the skillet.
  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Cut the bell pepper into large pieces and add to the skillet.
  6. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
  7. Mix cornstarch, sugar (if using), and soy sauce; stir into the meat mixture.
  8. Cook and stir until the sauce thickens, about 2 minutes.
  9. Cut tomatoes into wedges and place on top of the mixture.
  10. Cover and heat for 3 minutes.
  11. Turn off the heat and serve over rice.
