Bierocks are savory German-inspired pastries filled with seasoned ground beef, cabbage, and onions, wrapped in soft crescent roll dough. Crispy on the outside and flavorful inside, they make a hearty snack or meal perfect for gatherings or family dinners, combining comfort and bold flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. hamburger meat
  • 1 cup cabbage, shredded
  • 1/4 tsp. allspice
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • Cheddar or Swiss cheese, shredded (optional)
  • refrigerated crescent rolls or Frozen Dinner Rolls

Instructions

  1. Brown the hamburger meat and chopped onion in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add shredded cabbage, allspice, salt, and pepper to the skillet and cook until the cabbage is tender.
  3. Separate the crescent rolls into 4 rectangles and place them on an ungreased baking sheet.
  4. Press the middle perforation of each rectangle together to seal.
  5. Spoon 1/2 cup of the meat mixture onto one half of each dough rectangle.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the meat mixture if desired.
  7. Fold the dough over the filling, covering it completely, and seal the edges.
  8. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 12 to 18 minutes until golden brown.
