Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 3/4 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion or more
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp rubbed sage
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup ketchup

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine egg, evaporated milk, quick cooking oats, chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, rubbed sage, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Crumble ground beef over the mixture and mix well.
  3. Press the mixture into an ungreased 8 x 4 x 2-inch loaf pan.
  4. Bake uncovered at 350°F (175°C) for 1 1/4 hours.
  5. Drain excess fat from the loaf.
  6. Drizzle with ketchup.
  7. Bake for an additional 10 minutes.
