Ingredients

  • 1 lb bacon, cut into small pieces
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3/4 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp parsley flakes
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (16 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 4 tsp chicken bouillon
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp thyme
  • 1/4 tsp oregano
  • 3/4 cup mild picante sauce

Instructions

  1. In a Dutch oven, fry bacon until crisp.
  2. Remove bacon and keep warm, but don't let it get soggy.
  3. Pour off all but 2 tablespoons of bacon grease, trying to save all browned residue in the pan.
  4. Cook diced onion in bacon grease until translucent, but not brown.
  5. Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, chicken bouillon, water, Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt, parsley flakes, cumin, thyme, oregano, and picante sauce to the pan.
  6. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes.
