Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup shortening or butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup flour
  • a few grains salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup seeded raisins
  • 1/3 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Cream the shortening or butter.
  2. Beat in sugar and beaten egg.
  3. Add 1/2 cup flour sifted with baking soda and salt.
  4. Mix in cinnamon, chopped nuts, and seeded raisins.
  5. Add remaining 1/2 cup flour and mix well.
  6. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a baking sheet.
  7. Bake at 350°F for approximately 10 minutes.
