Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups Raisins
  • 1-1/2 cups Water
  • 1 tablespoon Shortening
  • 2-3/4 cups Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 4 tablespoons Molasses

Instructions

  1. Boil the Raisins, Water, and Shortening together for 2 minutes.
  2. Cool the mixture, then add the remaining ingredients and beat well.
  3. Pour into 2 well-greased 11-13 oz. coffee cans.
  4. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
