Ingredients

  • 8 eggs, separated
  • 3/4 cup bourbon
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 envelopes gelatin
  • chopped almonds or pecans

Instructions

  1. Add bourbon to well beaten egg yolks.
  2. Beat egg whites until stiff and gradually add sugar.
  3. Dissolve gelatin in cold water and heat in a double boiler.
  4. Pour the warm gelatin mixture slowly over the beaten egg whites, beating constantly until the mixture resembles divinity.
  5. Gently fold the egg yolks into the whipped egg whites and gelatin mixture.
  6. Pour the mixture into a mold rinsed in cold water.
  7. Garnish with chopped almonds or pecans.
  8. Chill until set before serving.
