Tips & Substitutions

For best results, choose ripe but firm peaches to prevent mushiness during cooking. If you don't have egg whites, you can skip this step, but they help create a clearer syrup. You can also use other fruits like pears or apricots as a substitute for peaches. Consider adding a sprinkle of cinnamon for an extra layer of flavor.

Serving Suggestions

Brandied peaches are delightful when served over vanilla ice cream or with a slice of pound cake. They can also complement a cheese platter or be used as a topping for pancakes or waffles. For a unique twist, try them alongside Doctor Bird Cake for a delicious dessert pairing.

Storage & Reheating

Store the sealed jars of brandied peaches in a cool, dark place. Once opened, keep them refrigerated and consume within a few weeks. If you want to enjoy them warm, gently reheat in a saucepan over low heat, adding a little water if necessary to maintain the syrup's consistency.
