Ingredients

  • 1 to 1 1/4 lb. bacon or ham
  • 8 slices bread
  • 12 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 12 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook and crumble bacon or ham.
  2. Grease a 9 x 13-inch dish well with bacon drippings.
  3. Fill the bottom of the dish with bread, removing the crust.
  4. Sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese over the bread.
  5. Spread crumbled bacon on top of the cheese.
  6. Beat eggs, milk, salt, and pepper together.
  7. Pour the egg mixture over the layered ingredients in the dish.
  8. Refrigerate overnight.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 250°F for 1 hour.
