Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 cup oleo or margarine
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 packages dry yeast
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • brown sugar
  • cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Heat milk until bubbly around the edges. Add sugar, salt, and oleo to the milk and let stand until lukewarm.
  2. Sprinkle yeast in warm water and dissolve.
  3. Add the milk mixture to the yeast, then add beaten eggs and 2 cups of flour. Mix until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the rest of the flour to form a dough.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with oil or Pam, and keep in a warm place to rise for one hour.
  6. Punch down the dough, place on a floured board, and roll out.
  7. Cover the rolled dough with melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  8. Roll up the dough like a jelly roll and slice into pieces.
  9. Place the slices in baking pans with the melted margarine side up.
  10. Allow the rolls to rise for 45 minutes to one hour.
  11. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 to 20 minutes.
  12. Frost while still warm with powdered sugar, margarine, and milk icing.
