Hearty breakfast squares with sausage, cheese, and bread soaked in eggs and milk, perfect for a satisfying morning meal that can be prepared overnight for convenience.

Ingredients

  • 10 slices bread
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 pound mild pork sausage
  • 2 cups cheese

Instructions

  1. The night before, cut bread slices into small cubes.
  2. Beat together eggs and milk.
  3. Add bread cubes to the egg mixture and allow to soak overnight.
  4. Cook sausage until browned and crumbled, then drain well.
  5. Lightly grease an 11 x 7-inch glass baking dish.
  6. Layer cooked sausage and grated cheese in the dish.
  7. Pour the egg mixture over the layered ingredients and gently mix.
  8. Refrigerate overnight.
  9. In the morning, preheat the oven to 400°F and bake for 40 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
