Broccoli And Ham Strata

Ingredients

  • 3 c. chopped, cooked ham
  • 1/2 c. chopped fresh onion
  • 6 slices bread, crusts removed
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 3 c. milk
  • 4 c. fresh broccoli, chopped
  • 3 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 6 eggs

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl mix chopped ham, broccoli, onion and 2 cups Cheddar cheese. Butter a 3-quart baking dish.
  2. Place trimmed bread on bottom of dish.
  3. Spoon broccoli-ham mixture over bread.
  4. Beat eggs with dry mustard, Worcestershire sauce and milk; pour over broccoli mixture and sprinkle with remaining 1 cup Cheddar cheese. Let stand for 10 minutes before baking.
  5. Place baking dish in pan of hot water and bake in a 375° oven for 50 minutes or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean.
  6. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
  7. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
