- Cook the butter and minced onion together in a small skillet over medium heat until the onion is soft, without letting it brown.
- Remove the skillet from the heat.
- Stir in the sour cream, poppy seed, paprika, salt, and pepper into the butter and onion mixture.
- Heat the sauce in the top of a double boiler over boiling water.
- Cook the cooked broccoli until heated through.
- Lift the broccoli onto a warm platter.
- Pour the hot sauce over the broccoli.
- Sprinkle with chopped salted peanuts and serve.
