Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 cup cooking oil
  • 3 teaspoons cocoa
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Mix the sugar and flour together and set aside in a bowl.
  2. In a saucepan, combine oleo, cooking oil, cocoa, and water. Bring to a rapid boil.
  3. Pour the hot mixture over the dry ingredients and mix well.
  4. Add baking soda, vanilla, eggs, and buttermilk. Mix until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into a well-greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  6. Bake at 300°F for 30 minutes or until done.
