- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Melt the unsweetened chocolate and margarine or butter together until smooth.
- Stir in the sugar until well combined.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- Fold in the all-purpose flour until just combined.
- If desired, fold in chopped nuts and/or raisins.
- Pour batter into a greased or parchment-lined 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Cool before cutting into 24 squares.
