Ingredients

  • Quick Rising Yeast Dough
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup melted butter or margarine

Instructions

  1. Shape pieces of dough into 1 1/2-inch balls.
  2. Mix brown sugar, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ground cloves in a bowl.
  3. Dip each ball into melted butter, then roll in the sugar and spice mixture.
  4. Place a layer of balls in a well-greased 10-inch tube pan, with sides slightly touching.
  5. Sprinkle some of the chopped nuts over the layer.
  6. Add another layer of balls, placing them in the wells created by the first layer.
  7. Sprinkle with more nuts.
  8. Repeat layers until the pan is nearly two-thirds full, leaving space for rising.
  9. Allow the dough to rise for about 35 minutes.
