Butter Dips(Bread)

- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Melt butter in an oblong 13 x 9 1/2 x 2-inch pan in the oven.
- Remove the pan when the butter has melted.
- Sift dry ingredients together: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk to the dry ingredients and stir slowly with a fork until the dough just clings together.
- Turn the dough onto a well-floured board.
- Roll the dough over to coat with flour.
- Knead lightly about 10 times.
- Roll out to a 1/2-inch thickness into a 12 x 8-inch rectangle.
- With a floured knife, cut the dough in half lengthwise, then crosswise into 16 strips.
- Pick up each strip and dip it in the melted butter in the pan.
- Lay the dipped strips close together in the same pan used for melting butter.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve hot.
