Ingredients

  • 2 c. self-rising flour
  • 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 2/3 c. buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
  2. Combine the self-rising flour, butter or margarine, and oil in a food processor fitted with a steel blade.
  3. Pulse several times to cut the butter into the flour.
  4. Add buttermilk and process until well blended and the mixture forms a soft, sticky dough.
  5. Remove dough to a well-floured surface.
  6. Gently knead about 6 times.
  7. Pat or roll dough to a thickness of about 1/2 inch.
  8. Cut with a 2 1/2 inch biscuit cutter.
  9. Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
