- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
- Combine the self-rising flour, butter or margarine, and oil in a food processor fitted with a steel blade.
- Pulse several times to cut the butter into the flour.
- Add buttermilk and process until well blended and the mixture forms a soft, sticky dough.
- Remove dough to a well-floured surface.
- Gently knead about 6 times.
- Pat or roll dough to a thickness of about 1/2 inch.
- Cut with a 2 1/2 inch biscuit cutter.
- Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
