Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Cream butter or margarine until soft; gradually add 1 cup of sugar.
  2. Blend together until light and creamy.
  3. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  4. Sift flour.
  5. Stir the flour gradually into the butter mixture.
  6. Shape dough into 1/2-inch balls.
  7. Place on greased baking sheet.
  8. Bake in 375°F oven until the edges are light brown (about 8 minutes).
