Butterball Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine, melted
  • 2 c. flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°.
  2. Melt 1/2 cup butter.
  3. Put 1 teaspoon into each of 12 pan cups.
  4. Save the rest for later.
  5. Sift and measure flour, baking powder and salt.
  6. Add 1/3 cup softened butter.
  7. Cut into flour mixture with pastry blender until pea size.
  8. Stir in 3/4 cup milk with a fork.
  9. Fill each muffin cup almost to top with dough.
  10. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes. Spoon melted butter over each biscuit.
  11. Bake 10 minutes more. "Serve piping hot with butter, jam or honey."
