- Preheat oven to hot (425°F).
- Lightly grease cornstick pan. Place in oven to warm while preparing batter.
- Combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda in a large bowl.
- Add eggs, buttermilk, and melted butter; stir just to moisten.
- Pour batter into each cornstick mold, filling each about 3/4 full.
- Bake in preheated hot oven (425°F) for about 15 minutes or until tops are lightly browned.
- Cool in pan on wire rack for 5 minutes.
- Using a thin metal spatula, carefully remove sticks from pan.
- Repeat until all batter is used.
