Ingredients

  • 2 (9-inch) pie pastry crusts
  • 3 lb. ripe peaches
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 6 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice peaches to have 6 cups.
  2. Arrange the peach slices in the pie shell.
  3. Combine brown sugar, flour, lemon juice, melted butter, and nutmeg; sprinkle over the peaches.
  4. Place the second crust on top of the filled pie and seal the edges well.
  5. Poke holes in the top crust to vent.
  6. Bake at 450°F for 15 minutes.
  7. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F and bake for an additional 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown.
