Ingredients

  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 c. graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/2 pt. whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Mix together egg yolks, sugar, vanilla, almond and baking powder.
  2. Set the mixture aside.
  3. Whip egg whites until very stiff and fold into the yolk mixture.
  4. Fold in graham cracker crumbs and chopped nuts.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased 9 x 13-inch cake pan.
  6. Bake at 325° for 30 minutes.
  7. Cool the torte.
  8. Whip the whipping cream and spread it over the cooled cake.
