Ingredients

  • 6 slices white bread
  • 1/2 stick margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 cups half and half cream
  • 1 lb sausage
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dry mustard

Instructions

  1. Cook sausage well and drain.
  2. Melt margarine in a 9 x 13-inch Pyrex dish.
  3. Tear bread into small pieces and sprinkle over melted margarine. Sprinkle drained sausage over bread pieces.
  4. Sprinkle cheese over sausage.
  5. Beat eggs and mix in half and half cream, salt, and dry mustard.
  6. Pour egg mixture over the bread and sausage. Chill for 8 hours or overnight.
  7. Bake in a 350° oven for 40 to 50 minutes.
  8. Serve immediately.
