Ingredients

  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 c. sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp. butter
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Sift together flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
  2. Cut in shortening using an electric mixer.
  3. Add unbeaten egg, milk, butter, and vanilla; mix until well combined.
  4. Drop spoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
