Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
  • 6 tablespoons lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl of an electric mixer, beat butter and the 1/2 cup powdered sugar until creamy.
  2. Beat in 2 1/3 cups of the flour, blending thoroughly.
  3. Spread mixture evenly over the bottom of a well-greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
  4. Bake in a 350°F oven for 20 minutes.
