Ingredients

  • 6 cups shredded cabbage
  • 3 slices bread, cubed
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1/4 pound cheese, cubed

Instructions

  1. Cook the shredded cabbage in salted boiling water for 5 minutes.
  2. In a 2-quart casserole, layer half of the cooked cabbage, half of the cubed bread, melted butter, and half of the cheese.
  3. Cover the layer with half of the sauce.
  4. Repeat the layers with remaining cabbage, bread, cheese, and sauce, placing cheese on top.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes until heated through and bubbly.
