Ingredients

  • buttermilk
  • baking soda
  • margarine
  • unprocessed bran
  • white flour
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl. Make a circular hole in the middle and add buttermilk while mixing it with the flour in a circular motion.
  3. Continue mixing until all ingredients form a dough.
  4. Remove the dough from the bowl.
  5. Shake some flour on the counter and knead the dough lightly with your hands.
  6. Form the dough into a circle or round ball and flatten it slightly.
  7. Cut the dough into four quarters and place on a floured baking pan.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool.
