Ingredients

  • 1 cup cubed ham
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups grated sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 large tomato, diced
  • salt to taste
  • cayenne pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook grits as per package instructions, then cook for an additional 10 minutes.
  2. Spray a frypan with cooking oil.
  3. Add chopped onion, cubed ham, and chopped green pepper to the frypan.
  4. Saute lightly for approximately 5 minutes.
  5. Add grated Cheddar cheese and allow it to melt into the mixture.
  6. Mix in cayenne pepper and stir well.
  7. Stir in diced tomatoes.
  8. Blend the sauteed ingredients with the cooked grits and serve.
