Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 2/3 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. raisins

Instructions

  1. Cream sugar and margarine together.
  2. Add egg and vanilla, and beat for 1 minute.
  3. Set aside the creamed mixture.
  4. Sift together baking powder and salt.
  5. Add the sifted mixture to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk.
  6. Stir in raisins.
  7. Pour batter into a loaf pan.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 to 50 minutes.
