Ingredients

  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 2 sticks oleo
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 c. dates
  • 1 c. candied cherries
  • 1 c. candied pineapple

Instructions

  1. Beat the brown sugar, oleo, eggs, and buttermilk until well combined.
  2. Sift the flour with baking soda and stir into the wet mixture.
  3. Add the chopped dates, candied cherries, and candied pineapple to the dough.
  4. Mix well and chill the dough for 1 hour.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the chilled dough onto a baking sheet.
  6. Bake at 400°F for about 10 minutes until golden.
