Canterbury Cherry Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
  • 1-1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1-1/2 tsp. CALUMET Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup chopped drained maraschino cherries, divided
  • 1 cup chopped PLANTERS Pecans
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1-1/3 cups sifted powdered sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Beat cream cheese and butter in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until creamy.
  3. Add brown sugar; beat until light and fluffy.
  4. Add egg; mix well.
  5. Blend in honey; set aside.
  6. Combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  7. Gradually add to cream cheese mixture, beating well after each addition.
  8. Stir in 1/2 cup of the cherries, the pecans and raisins.
  9. Spread into greased and floured 15x10x1-inch baking pan.
  10. Bake 35 to 40 min.
  11. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  12. Mix powdered sugar, milk and vanilla.
  13. Drizzle over warm bars.
  14. Top with the remaining 1/2 cup cherries.
  15. Cool completely.
  16. Cut into 36 bars.
