Cape Cod Cranberry Bread
A moist, tangy cranberry bread with bright orange flavor, perfect for holiday mornings or brunch, combining fresh cranberries and optional nuts for added texture.

- Wash, drain cranberries and set aside.
- Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, soda, and salt; set aside 2 tablespoons of this mixture.
- Cut oleo into the flour mixture until crumbly.
- Beat together the orange juice and egg, then add to the flour mixture and mix well.
- Put 2 tablespoons of flour into a sack, add cranberries, and shake to coat.
- Gently fold the coated cranberries into the batter.
- Pour batter into a greased and floured loaf pan.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan, then remove and serve.
