Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. fresh shrimp, cleaned and deveined with tails on
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. cornmeal
  • 1/2 c. cracker meal
  • 1/2 c. canned cream

Instructions

  1. Clean the shrimp, leaving the tails on, and run cold water over them. Drain well.
  2. Pour chilled cream into a small bowl.
  3. Dip each shrimp into the cream, then shake in a paper bag containing the bread mixture.
  4. Place the coated shrimp on a platter as you bread them.
  5. Chill the breaded shrimp for at least 1 hour.
  6. Fry the shrimp in hot oil until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Salt the shrimp while they are hot before serving.
