Ingredients

  • 1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. nuts
  • 1 c. caramel chips

Instructions

  1. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Add egg, vanilla, and shortening to the dry ingredients and blend until smooth.
  3. Stir in nuts and caramel chips.
  4. Drop teaspoonfuls of dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
  5. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
