Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 24 pitted dates, chopped
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans
  • Frosting

Instructions

  1. Cream butter, brown sugar, and egg together until fluffy.
  2. Mix in vanilla.
  3. In a separate bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add to the creamed mixture alternately with sour cream.
  5. Stir in chopped dates and chopped pecans.
  6. Drop by a rounded teaspoonful onto greased baking sheets.
  7. Bake in a 400°F oven for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Remove immediately to wire racks and let cool.
  9. Spread with frosting.
