Sweet, caramelized bananas infused with rum and honey, perfect for a dessert or breakfast treat that balances rich flavors with a hint of citrus and cinnamon optional.

Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 6 bananas
  • 1/2 lemon (juice only)
  • 1/2 c. honey
  • 1-1/2 Tbsp. dark rum
  • ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Butter a baking dish with 1 tablespoon of butter or use solid margarine.
  2. Slice the bananas and place them in the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a small bowl, combine honey, lemon juice, and dark rum.
  4. Pour the honey mixture over the bananas.
  5. Dot the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter over the bananas.
  6. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon if desired.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 15 minutes until bananas are caramelized.
  8. Serve warm, optionally with ice cream or yogurt.
