Carmel Oatmeal Chews
Indulgent chewy bars packed with oat crunch, chocolate, caramel, and nuts—sweet, buttery, and satisfying, perfect for on-the-go snacking or holiday treats.

Instructions
- Heat oven to 350°F.
- Grease a 9x13-inch pan.
- Combine oatmeal, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt.
- Add melted margarine and mix until crumbly.
- Reserve 1 cup of the mixture for topping.
- Press the remaining mixture onto the bottom of the prepared pan and bake for 10 minutes.
- Cool the base.
- Top with chopped nuts and semi-sweet chocolate bits.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the vanilla caramels with water over low heat, stirring until smooth.
- Remove from heat and drizzle over nuts and chocolate, leaving a 1/4-inch border.
- Sprinkle the reserved oatmeal mixture over the drizzle.
- Return to the oven and bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool completely.
- Chill until the chocolate sets.
- Cut into bars and store tightly covered in a cool, dry place.
