Ingredients

  • 1 lb. carrots, scraped and sliced thin
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1/4 to 1/3 cup cooking sherry or dry white wine
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 cup celery, sliced thin
  • 1 Tbsp. onion, cut fine
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • dill weed

Instructions

  1. Simmer the carrots and celery separately until tender.
  2. Drain the cooked vegetables.
  3. Melt the margarine in a skillet or saucepan.
  4. Add the cooking sherry or dry white wine and sugar to the melted margarine, then simmer until the carrots are coated with the sauce.
  5. Add the cooked celery and season with salt, pepper, and dill weed to taste.
  6. Hold warm until ready to serve.
