- Cook celery in salted boiling water for 8 minutes; drain.
- Combine cooked celery, undiluted cream of chicken soup, sliced water chestnuts, and sliced pimentos. Turn into a 6-cup casserole.
- Heat butter until hot; add slivered almonds and stir until pale brown.
- Scatter the toasted almonds over the casserole.
- Sprinkle bread crumbs over the top of the casserole.
- Bake for 20 minutes at 350°F.
