Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 3 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1/3 cup chopped onions
  • 1 (13 oz.) can evaporated milk
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 12 corn tortillas
  • 1 lb. Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown beef in oil; add chili powder and chopped onions.
  2. Simmer until onion is tender.
  3. Add evaporated milk, tomato sauce, and salt; simmer until hot.
  4. Cut tortillas into 1/2 inch strips.
  5. Arrange alternating layers of tortillas, meat mixture, and cheese in a baking dish.
  6. Bake at 300°F for 40 minutes.
