Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1/2 large bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 large can chopped tomatoes
  • 6 oz can tomato paste
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet and season to taste.
  2. Saute chopped onions and bell pepper in butter until tender.
  3. Combine the cooked beef, sautéed vegetables, chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, crushed garlic, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, salt, and pepper in a saucepan.
  4. Simmer the mixture over low heat for 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add 2 tablespoons of flour to the sauce to thicken, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
