Cheese and pepper toasts offer a delightful combination of melted Gouda, fresh peppers, and tangy mayonnaise on toasted bread, perfect for a flavorful snack or light meal.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 4 slices bread
  • 4 slices Gouda cheese
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 red pepper
  • 5 tablespoons thick mayonnaise
  • Paprika red pepper

Instructions

  1. Cream butter with mustard and lemon juice.
  2. Spread the butter mixture on the bread slices.
  3. Lay a slice of Gouda cheese on each piece of bread.
  4. Slice the green pepper into thin strips and discard the core and seeds.
  5. Slice the red pepper into thin strips and discard the core and seeds.
  6. Garnish each toast with a spoon of mayonnaise.
  7. Sprinkle with paprika red pepper.
