Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small package cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and brown sugar; add flour and chopped nuts and mix to make crumbs.
  2. Reserve 1 cup of the crumb mixture for topping.
  3. Press the remaining crumbs into an 8-inch pan to form the crust.
  4. Bake the crust for 12 to 15 minutes at 350°F.
  5. In a bowl, blend sugar with cream cheese until smooth.
  6. Add egg, milk, lemon juice, and vanilla; mix well.
  7. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the baked crust.
  8. Sprinkle with the reserved crumb mixture on top.
  9. Bake for an additional 25 minutes.
