Cheese icing for finger bread offers a rich, cheesy flavor with a hint of onion and spice, perfect for appetizers or snacks that are warm and flavorful.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. sharp cheese, grated
  • 2 sticks oleo
  • 1 Tbsp. sour cream or mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 unbeaten egg whites
  • dash of red pepper
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. grated onion

Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients into a mixer and beat until smooth.
  2. Cut bread into finger-sized slices (either Texas toast size or plain slices).
  3. Remove crusts from the bread slices.
  4. Spread the cheese mixture on all sides of the bread slices, avoiding the bottom.
  5. Place on a cookie sheet and bake in a 370° to 375°F oven for about six minutes or until lightly browned.
  6. Should be eaten hot.
