Ingredients

  • 2 bacon slices
  • 1 cup thinly sliced onion
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 3/4 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 dash pepper
  • 1/3 cup Post Grape-Nuts cereal
  • 1 lightly baked 9-inch pie shell

Instructions

  1. Fry bacon until crisp, then drain and crumble.
  2. Reserve 1 tablespoon of bacon drippings.
  3. Saute sliced onion in the reserved bacon drippings until tender and lightly browned.
  4. In a bowl, combine eggs, milk, shredded Swiss cheese, salt, pepper, and Grape-Nuts cereal.
  5. Stir in the cooked onion and crumbled bacon.
  6. Pour the mixture into a lightly baked 9-inch pie shell.
  7. Bake at 450°F for 15 minutes.
  8. Reduce the oven temperature to 350°F and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes until set.
