Ingredients

  • 1 loaf very thin-sliced sandwich bread, crusts removed
  • 1/2 lb. ground sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices bacon, fried, drained and crumbled
  • 1 small onion, minced fine
  • 1 small package slivered almonds
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix all filling ingredients well; then spread thinly over the bread.
  2. Cut the bread into strips about 1 inch wide.
  3. Place the strips on a cookie sheet and freeze until solid.
  4. Store the frozen strips in a plastic freezer bag.
  5. To reheat, bake on a cookie sheet for 10 minutes in a preheated 400°F oven.
