Cheeseburger pockets offer a savory, portable twist on classic cheeseburgers, combining seasoned ground beef, melty American cheese, and flaky biscuit dough for a satisfying snack or meal.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 (12 oz.) tube refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
  • 5 slices process American cheese

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, cook ground beef, chopped onion, salt, and pepper over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain and cool.
  2. Place two biscuits overlapping on a floured surface and roll out into a 5-inch oval.
  3. Put 3 tablespoons of the meat mixture on one side of the dough.
  4. Fold a slice of American cheese to fit over the meat mixture.
  5. Fold the dough over the filling to form a pocket.
  6. Press the edges with a fork to seal.
  7. Repeat with remaining biscuits, meat mixture, and cheese.
  8. Place the pockets on a greased baking sheet, prick the tops with a fork, and bake at 400°F for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
